So I finished season 1 about a month ago. Needless to say, I understood why there were 18 million people watching the show during the 1st season. It was smart, well thought through, and the whole story was written at once so there were NO major plot holes. I was in love, and for the first time in a long time I genuinely had no idea what was going to happen at the end of the show. i was on my seat the whole time, ready to give up and say 'NEW YORK IS GONNA BLOW UP' but then Peter would do something and a little bit of hope would spark in me, so the whole time I was just so excited and terrified at the same time. Nathan was my favorite character, along with Noah and of course (sigh) *SYLAR*. (sparklies for the psycho-killer). Nathan is so great because at first, I really hated him, but when he came to his senses I immediately forgave and adored him, accepting him with all his flaws - selfishness, greed - all of it.
my BF tells me to watch season 2 and 3 but to be prepared to be disappointed. My answer to that was no shit. Both season 2 and 3 were such bullshit and it was rambling. The writers didn't know what the hell they were doing! They were adding preqel stuff after-the-fact, which you should never do, they were breaking their own rules and creating MASSIVE plot holes left and right. Still, I loved Nathan, Noah and Sylar. Even when Nathan screwed up AGAIN I wasn't mad at him this time. I was just sad for him. Peter is his moral compass and when he ignores it, he gets so lost. He needs Peter, and Peter needs him. Brotherly love and all that! *sparklies*
A major problem with the last two matrix films was Agent Smith. He was a really powerful villain and really compelling, but he could only carry the lead antagonist role for one film. His character lost his steam after that. Almost ALL the Heroes cast is like that, especially Claire and even Sylar. I even liked Claire in the first season but her character has run its course and they just needed to stop with her already. I appreciate what Sylar was going through at the end of season three, shapeshifting into his mom and all that because he still has mommy issues, but seriously, the writers just don't know what to do with him. So as a result he is doing all these things that just don't suit him. It's so damn annoying!!!
Also Hiro is pissing me off. He was so great in the first season and now he is just irritating. The only thing that was worth continuing was Nathan and Peter and THEN THEY... well, I don't have to say it. All I will say is that I should know at the beginning of anything that the character I like the most is going to die. It always bloody happens.
And on a final note...
THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ANYONE IN THE PATRELLI FAMILY TO DIE. CLAIRE AND HER MAGIC BLOOD CAN REZ THEM. SO SCREW YOU, YOU STUPID HEROES WRITERS. YOU HAVE SCREWED THIS WHOLE THING UP. WHEN YOU WRITE SOMETHING THAT IS SMART, PEOPLE EXPECT CONTINUED SMARTNESS. AND YOU GUYS EPICALLY FAIL, AND THAT IS WHY THE SHOW IS SLOWLY DYING.
That is all for today. Class dismissed.
p.s. - zachary quinto, I too have a Heroes power. I dream about the future, and I'm gonna cast you in the movie version of my book, and we're going to fall in love and I'm gonna have your babies. Yay. xD
